The Making of Will's Fifth Quarter Special
The show Wills Fifth Quarter Special came about in a very interesting way. I was a junior at Illinois State University and back in November 2017 had the idea for my own sports podcast that could be for the average sports fan. It was on that two-hour car ride from Normal to Lansing Illinois on I-55 and I-80 I planned the early stages of a podcast that has now been on the airwaves for any average sports fan for three years. The first pilot episode of the podcast was done early that December as I tested it out for a class project in my Broadcast performance class back at Illinois State. Will's Fifth Quarter Special is on five different podcast directories, four social media pages, and a YouTube Channel. Since the first official episode in December 2017, Will's Fifth Quarter Special has featured big time guest appearances such as : Nate Jones, Mark Schanowski, Don Cooper, Marcas Grant , David Haugh, Mark Grote, and countless others along with co-hosts that help me as the host make each episode of the fifth quarter sports talk something special for the average sports fan.
