The Chicago White Sox are trying to turn the page this year after last season lead them to the wrong end of baseball history. New manager Will Venable brings his intelligent baseball mind to try to improve this talented team with a fanbase expecting positive change. The team has brought in some veterans to help out the team while also mentoring the young talent. New veterans like Martin Perez already showing signs of hope to his new team’s future this year. There are many talented prospects , but the question is where the team will go this season. Baseball in my view is hard to predict, but with a new season on the way this team could make some noise in 2025.
Will Venable is coming into a good, challenging situation for a first time manager. Venable has assembled a staff to help this young White Sox team. Youngsters from last season like Johnathon Cannon, Brooks Baldwin, Drew Thorpe, Miguel Vargas, and Andrew Vaughn show optimism for the team this coming season. Luis Robert is now the remaining piece of the last White Sox playoff team who will now be a leader to this team moving forward. Colson Montgomery, Kyle Teel, Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, Edgar Quero, Bryan Ramos, and other prospects are showing fans reason for excitement. I had the chance to meet current and soon to be major leaguers of this team back at Sox Fest in January. I can see their excitement and positivity after a difficult 2024 season last year. The confidence and hunger to improve is one thing that should excite fans for this upcoming season. Sox fans may not be on bord with the current GM Chris Getz, but so far he is steering this ship in the right direction.
The Chicago White Sox may still have a tough season ahead, but they are closer to being good again. I have hope that more young players will come top during the early parts of the season. The continued youth movement paired with the right veterans is a great recipe for good baseball at Rate Field in 2025. The Chicago White Sox are building this team better then the last rebuild. The Southsiders feature a good blend so far of pitching and hitting talent with the right coaching staff. The fans at 35th and Shields I think will see some more exciting new White Sox baseball in 2025. I will definitely be there to see it this season with optimism and a clean slate. There is still a lot of spring ball left with good competition for key team positions for the Opening Day roster. The White Sox are on the right track to a long-term sustained good baseball team.
